We've worked in this industry a very long time, and we know that things don't always go to plan - these situations are always unusual and sometimes confronting. This project revealed a problem with the slab, and tough decisions needed to be made.
It might seem like a waste, and a toll on our resources, but at times not everything is as it should be and a hard decision needed to be made by the engineer in this scenario.
In this case, the concrete wasn't up to specification and it looked like it was never going to reach the minimum required standard.
